Welcome to the 6th International Symposium of Integrative Zoology (ISIZ) : Outlook and Prospectives of Integrative Zoology & Celebrating 125 Years of the International Congress of Zoology and 10 Years of the International Society of Zoological Sciences, hosted by the International Society of Zoological Sciences (ISZS) 24-25 Nov 2014 at Institute of Zoology, ChineseAcademy of Sciences, Beijing, China.

2014 is the 125th year of the International Congress of Zoology (ICZ) and the 10th year of the International Society of Zoological Sciences (ISZS). 

The International Congress of Zoology (ICZ) was started in 1889 in Paris and provides a global opportunity to showcase the interdisciplinary study of zoological sciences. The Congress brings together a wide group of scientists concerned with zoology, as well as with its pedagogy, ethics, palaeozoology, and its integration with other disciplines.

The International Society of Zoological Sciences (ISZS) was established at the 19th ICZ in Beijing in 2004 as an international zoological body in charge of organizing ICZ and providing a global voice for zoologists. The ISZS is a nonpartisan, nonprofit membership-based organization of zoological professionals. There are over 100 institutional members and more than 1000 individual members withISZS. Integrative Zoology (INZ) is the official journal of the ISZS and it is indexed by SCI and Medline.

The Symposium and Celebration provide an opportunity not only to review the history of ICZ, ISZS and INZ, but to review the progress of world zoology and to discuss outlook and prospectives of integrative zoology in the world.
