As US Country Head for Macquarie Group, Michael McLaughlin chairs the US Management Committee, which comprises the leadership of all of Macquarie’s US-based businesses. Michael is also a member of the Macquarie Group Executive Committee, the senior decision-making body for the Company. Michael joined Macquarie in 2008 to launch the firm’s Credit Markets Division, which he now heads. The division provides capital solutions to clients across all corporate and consumer credit assets. McLaughlin founded the “buy side” proprietary credit trading business at Macquarie. This business was converted to a funds management business called Macquarie Credit Investment Management, Inc., the investment advisor for the Macquarie Credit Nexus Fund. He was the Chief Investment Officer of the Nexus Credit Fund from 2012 to 2014. In addition to presenting on topics covering credit markets, derivatives, and financial innovation at numerous industry conferences, Michael McLaughlin has served as a guest lecturer at the Villanova School of Business, and at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. He is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of the Villanova School of Business, and serves on the board of the Macquarie Group Foundation.
