Dr. Stefanidis is Director of Pediatric Nephrology at “P. and A. Kyriakou” Childrens’ Hospital in Athens, Greece. He completed his medical degree at the University of Athens. He was trained in Pediatrics at the University of Athens and Western Ontario in London. He later went at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto to extend his training in Paediatric Nephrology. Dr. Stefanidis was councillor and president of the European Society for Paediatric Nephrology (ESPN), national representative and chair of the Tertiary Care Group of the European Academy of Paediatrics. He is presently section editor on dialysis at the journal “Pediatric Nephrology”, registry representative at the ESPN/ERA-EDTA Registry and board member of the dialysis working group of ESPN. He authored or co-authored more than 120 scientific publications, with more than 1300 citations.
